Micropanik est un projet “indie electronica” en provenance de Montréal créé par Jean-Sébastien Vaillancourt. Le tout allait naître après l’achat d’un premier synth, puis d’un deuxième, etc. À la suite de nombreuses heures d’expérimentation, quelques démos et pas mal de “tweaking” de boutons, une première réalisation complète intitulée Fall of Melancopolis voit finalement le jour en 2012. Micropanik puise principalement ses influences des deux décennies qui ont précédé le tournant du deuxième millénaire. Ça peut être chaud, mais plutôt froid. Il explore l’objet qui devient son, combine le digital à l’analogue, l’instrumental et le vocal, l’espoir, la rage et le mélancolique, les sonorités électroniques à la vraie instrumentation. On obtient au final quelque chose que l’on pourrait décrire comme de l’électronica fait de manière totalement indépendante. Philosophie “Do It Yourself” ? Pas trop le choix…!!!
Micropanik est un long processus de création et un travail de longue haleine. Même si les nouvelles peuvent se faire rares, sachez que tant que vous voyez ces pages, I’m still alive, so…rock on !

Micropanik is a Montreal-based indie electronica project created by JS Vaillancourt. It was born after the purchase of a first synthesizer, then another one, etc. In the wake of a lot of tweaking, many hours of experimentation and a few demos, a first complete album entitled Fall of Melancopolis has finally been born in 2012. Micropanik draws its influences from the two decades preceding the second millennium turning point. It can be warm but mostly cold. It explores the object that becomes sound, the instrumental and the vocal. It also combines the digital to the analog, electronic sounds to real instrumentation and it brings out hope, rage and melancholy. As a result, we obtain something that we can describe as indie electronica created in a totally independent manner. DIY ethic, no choice!!!
Micropanik is a long creational process and a long-term project. Even if news sometimes become scarce, know that as long as you see these pages, I’m still alive, so...rock on!

Another week goes by and Fall of Melancopolis of Micropanik is still charting somewhere in Canada! To be honest, I’m the first one to be surprised! /// Je suis bien le premier à être surpris, mais Micropanik continue à nouveau cette semaine de s’accrocher sur des palmarès à quelque part au Canada!

This week, Fall of Melancopolis is the second most played album on the Kamloops University Radio Station in British Columbia. Position number 2 on the CFBX 92.5 FM top 30!!! /// Fall of Melancopolis est en position numéro 2 cette semaine sur le top 30 de la radio universitaire de Kamloops, BC - CFBX 92.5 FM.
